Went to Jaco last year, $300 round trip to San Jose. 1.5 hour road trip from San Jose to Jaco, stayed at a 4 bedroom condo for about $250/ night w/ my bros, surf break was across the street and turned on everyday at 1 pm like clockwork Chest High +.
1) Jaco Taco is delicious, highly recommend
2) Stay out of the casino

Been twice to nosara and playa grande this year. To Liberia was 380 round trip. Just got back a week ago. Big big swell.

Very expensive - that is why I chose Mex over it.

We did that about a year ago. Roads from SJO south are nice. Was able to make it to Dominical in 4 hours through jaco/hernosa/Quepos with many stops. I know its nice to do the guanacaste thing but the southern zone is still wild and pretty much uncrowned. Good advise: Plan stay in dominical, when swell hits, you aren’t far from pavones or matapalo
