I've never surfed there. I'm going with my brother in law to PINS this weekend and the wind is going to be garbage for fishing and surfing along the beach there.
Mansfield looks doable, but none of us have a 4wd. I guess we could hit up Packery, but I've always wanted to hit up Mansfield. How bad is the sand there?
I think we're just going to hit up Packery Channel on the way home. Everyone I'm going with that I talked to doesn't have 4WD and isn't as crazy about the idea as I am. I'll have to go back with the right gear. Thanks for the input.
The tides have a lot to do with it.

you need 4x4, extra spare, fix a flat, shovels, and boards to wedge in tires when sthey uck

Similar to shell banks on a really low tide you can drive all the way there from corpus. But it’s way further thaN shell banks. Good luck
