Hi all, does anyone have experience with South Portugal - the Algarve region? I decided to make sure ya'll get a great swell out of the next storm and am flying out there for several days in the end of the week. If someone can advise a spot where it will be logistically easy to drive up to, rent some boards and score good waves, I would appreciate it!

We flew Jetblue to JFK and TAP to LIS. Fares are not bad.

We had very little time, so, I decided against Sagres and Peniche and just drove to Guincho - 30 min away from Lisbon. I thought it would be a bust, but, judging by surf reports that was actually the place to be that day: biggest on the coast and just light offshore. Here is my kid once he appeared from the whitewater

Now I have experience. Happy to share if you think of visiting.
Spain was as far as I got. I drive from Denmark and I didn’t have it in me to drive 14 more hours to Portugal. I probably should have though.
Matt, I thought you have been to that area, or it was Spain? Looking at the forecast, looks like Peniche will be a better call, so, need some advice on Supertubos ;)
I’ve always wanted to go to Portugal and the Azores. Please post lots of pictures and share your stories for us poor saps in he Upper Coast
