I bought Thule racks and surfboard carrier when I bought my Jeep Wrangler 5 years ago. They work well since my Jeep has rain gutters, The racks lock to the Jeep and the surfboard carrier locks to the racks and the boards are locked to the carrier. The down side is the carrier will only hold 2 boards so if you want to carry more you have to buy another surfboard carrier for the other side of the racks. They are pricey too as they were $500.00 retail but I got 25 % off. It was a lot easier to fasten the boards down in the back of my truck but they got stolen at the Flag years ago during a pro-am contest. My old Aloha racks worked fine back in the day until they got eaten at a drive through car wash. :)
