I live in College Station and when I take the family to the beach we normally go to Port A/CC for a few days. I want to take them over to Surfside for just a day trip. Hang on the beach all day and kick back, prefer mellow and less traffic. Is one area of the beach around Surfside more family friendly than another? I'd appreciate feedback from other dad's that have taken their family there. Thanks, Brad

Welk Street at Beach Drive is the best spot with sand
Beach drive
Surfside is pretty mellow. Beach Drive is cool if you get there early. Stahlman Park is a good spot for the family as well. There’s not a lot of beer bonging and fraternity party type hooliganism there. Especially now that All my friends and I got old and have kids now haha.
