The latest news report are now saying it was a Bull Shark attack which is much more likely than a Great White in these parts. This makes more sense. I have read that Bull Sharks have the highest testosterone level than any other shark and are known to be aggressive. I saw an interview yesterday with the guy that was attacked and he said he was 200 yards off shore when he was attacked. So there he was swimming with sharks, 😎

Funny story. Circa 2005-2007 during a TGSA State Championship in SPI I was free surfing between heats with my daughter Rachel, Molly Ware, the Dobson ladies and Sara Newton. We were in close proximity talking while waiting on a set and saw a fin surface. One of the ladies said "I am on my period" and 2 other ladies echoed the same thing. I thought to myself I am going to die. But if you gotta go........ surfing with some of the best looking and most skilled ladies on the Texas Coast would be the way I would want to go. Wahoo!

I've worked at Ohana, for Boog, for a very long time now. She was one of the instructors a few years ago for our summer surf camp that we always have, but that was it. They are seasonal and are usually college students. As for the wound, that doesn't look like a shark bite. It looks more like a fin gash, but I'm no expert.

Doesn't look like a shark bite to me based on pics I have seen in the past but it could be. She sure got a lot of attention saying it was a shark attack. I am glad she will be ok regardless.
